Gameplay & Visual identity
This game was developed as a part of an academic elective course, aimed at making difficult school topics easily understandable through board games.
Binary search tree is one such topic, usually introduced in class 11 or 12 in Computer science. A Binary Search Tree (or BST) is a data structure used in computer science for organising and storing data in a sorted manner.
BSTs, or Binary Search Trees, are fundamental data structures organising data in a sorted manner.
Each node in a Binary Search Tree has at most two children, a left child and a right child, with the left child containing values less than the parent node and the right child containing values greater than the parent node.

ABOUT THE GAME
Branch Master is a strategy-based board game inspired by the Binary Search Tree, a fundamental concept in computer science. The game combines learning and fun, challenging players to place numbers strategically to build balanced and efficient trees.
Designed to make the basics of data structures easy to grasp, Branch Master is perfect for students diving into computer science or anyone who loves a good mental workout. As you compete to grow the best tree, you'll develop problem-solving skills, explore numerical strategies, and experience the joy of mastering a complex concept through play.

BOARD ELEMENTS
Designed for the never predictable flow of the binary search tree, the board was designed in a semicircular manner with designated coin spots, if a branch has reached the end of the board, the coin then has to sit out and will not be counted for final scores.
COLOUR PALETTE
LOGOTYPE
The colors used for the board game were inspired from outer space. The branching patterns, resembling constellations, inspired the incorporation of deep, dark tones that convey a technical and futuristic feel.
Accent colours were strategically used for the coins to ensure they stand out against the dark board.
This choice enhances visibility and contrast, making the coins easily distinguishable.
The logotype was designed using the Silom typeface to contrast with the pixelated aesthetic of the game's design elements, ensuring it stands out prominently. A crown was incorporated into the center of the logotype to symbolize the ultimate reward of the game the title of "Branch Master," which also serves as the game's name. This design choice reinforces the theme and adds a sense of achievement to the visual identity.
